Jasvid Hood Cleaning

Hood Cleaning is the process of removing grease and other buildup from kitchen exhaust systems, including the hood, filters, and fan. This is a very important part of kitchen maintenance, as it helps to prevent fires and ensures proper ventilation in your restaurant. A dirty hood can lead to poor air quality, which can cause health and wellness concerns for customers and employees.

To clean the hood, technicians start by turning off the power supply. They then disconnect the wiring and unscrew or loosen the screws and bolts that hold the fan in place. After removing the fan, they dismantle each section of the ductwork, using special tools to avoid damaging them. They also check the fan and ductwork for foreign objects, obstructions, or leaks.

The Risks of Skipping Regular Hood Cleaning

The hood is then scraped manually, using brushes, cloths, or scrapers. Chemicals may be used to help break down grease or cooking oil. The hood surfaces are then rinsed and wiped down with clean water to remove residue. Plastic bags are then placed over the hood to funnel grease and spray from the pressure washer to a disposal container, to avoid dirtying the roof, floor, or other equipment in the kitchen.

Next, technicians use hot water power washing to clean the hood, fan, and ductwork. The service report is then read over by the cleaner and restaurant owner/manager, indicating any areas that need attention. The cleaner then wipes up any remaining grease, chemicals and water left behind, as well as the floors and walls of the kitchen.
